Privacy policy

This policy explains what data PauseProof collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are. We've tried to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email privacy@pauseproof.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — when you take the quiz and opt in for your Stage Report, subscribe to our newsletter, or buy a product.
- First name — used to personalize emails. Optional.
- Quiz responses — your answers and your computed stage result. We use these to send you the right Stage Report and tailored email content.
- Payment information — collected and processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
- Support emails — content of messages you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics — pages viewed, time on site, referring source. We use this to improve the product. Collected via Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly equivalent.
- Cookies — small text files for session management and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may stop working.
How we use your data
- To deliver the quiz, your Stage Report, the course you purchased, and related materials.
- To send you emails you've subscribed to. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email.
- To improve PauseProof — what's working, what isn't, where users get stuck.
- To comply with legal obligations (tax records, etc.).
What we never do
- We never sell your data to third parties.
- We never share your individual quiz answers, identity, or email with anyone outside the service providers below.
- We never use your data for advertising profiles beyond our own retargeting (e.g., showing you a Meta ad if you visited the site).
Service providers we use
We share data with the following providers as needed to operate the service. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Stripe — payment processing
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) or similar — email delivery and list management
- Kajabi / Teachable / Podia (course host, TBD) — course access and content delivery
- Google Analytics or a privacy-friendly equivalent — anonymized usage analytics
- Meta and Google Ads — for retargeting visitors (you can opt out in your ad settings on each platform)
Your rights
- Unsubscribe — one click on any email.
- Access — email us and we'll send you a copy of everything we have on file.
- Delete — email us and we'll delete your data within 30 days, except where we're legally required to keep it (e.g., tax records).
- Correct — email us and we'll fix anything that's wrong.
- Object — you can object to specific uses of your data at any time.
If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA. We honor all of them. Email privacy@pauseproof.com to exercise any right.
Data security
We use industry-standard security practices — HTTPS everywhere, encrypted databases, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take it seriously. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours.
Children
PauseProof is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll email everyone on our list and update the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
